$1.2 million to show Spirits executives the door
Tasmanians are paying almost $1.2 million to clear out TT-Line’s executive ranks after the Liberals’ Spirits fiasco.
TT-Line’s annual report shows four senior executives left in 2025-26, taking $1.17 million in termination payments between them.
The first left in July 2025, the same month the Auditor-General formed the view that TT-Line couldn’t pay its debts and reported the company to ASIC.
A year on, TT-Line owes $1.1 billion, its liabilities outweigh its assets by $216 million, and the Auditor-General has again raised doubts about the company’s ability to keep operating.
This is what 13 years of Liberal waste looks like. The Liberals forgot to build a berth, blew more than $717 million on the replacement project, and Tasmanians are tipping in another $506 million to keep TT-Line afloat. Now we’re paying again to clean out the executive suite.
Four high-paid executives walk away with more than a million dollars, while 1,700 Tasmanian workers are shown the door by Eric Abetz.
Tasmanians didn’t create this mess, but they’re the ones paying for it.
