Abetz continues to play the blame game with Spirits Fiasco

05 November 2024

The Spirits Fiasco is the biggest infrastructure stuff up in Tasmanian history and has become an international embarrassment for Tasmania.

Despite all that has happened, Eric Abetz has made it clear that the Liberal minority government is still playing the blame game and refuses to take responsibility for their mess.

Minister Abetz told the media that Ministers shouldn’t take ultimate responsibility for the project because they aren’t paid as much as the TT-Line and TasPorts executives.

Despite the incompetence shown throughout this fiasco, nobody lost their job except former TT-Line Chair Mike Grainger. And he only lost his job because he threatened to “set the record straight”.

Minister Abetz’ comments demonstrate that it still hasn’t sunk in for the Liberals – they still feel no responsibility and no remorse for their colossal stuff up.

Shadow Minister for Infrastructure
