Better late than never, strategic fuel reserve welcomed

Labor welcomes signs that Premier Rockliff is finally beginning to take the escalating fuel crisis seriously, following the announcement of a Tasmanian strategic fuel reserve.

No one is blaming the Tasmanian Government for the crisis, but it is responsible for managing the impact on Tasmanians already in a cost of living crisis.

Unfortunately, until today we’ve seen next to nothing meaningful from this Government.

It is frustrating it took for Labor to ask repeated questions for the Liberals to finally take some action.

I hope the Government will also lift its game and start communicating more effectively with Tasmanians about the state’s fuel position to help ease community anxiety in a cost of living crisis.
