The Auditor-General’s report into Access to Oral Health Services tabled today in Parliament has provided more proof that Tasmania cannot afford the Liberals’ health cuts.
The report shows that if you are a Tasmanian seeking dental care, there are 15,000 others on the same waitlist and you will have to wait, on average, four years to be seen by an oral care specialist.
Tasmania’s oral health service has been neglected by this Liberal Government for the last decade and patient outcomes are suffering as a result.
It’s clear the Tasmanian health system cannot afford any cuts to front-line health services, yet the Liberals have failed to rule them out.
The Government’s focus should be on improving health services and conditions for the dedicated workers who deliver them – not cutting health workers’ jobs.
