Highest unemployment rate in nation as Tasmania reaches rock-bottom

On the same day Eric Abetz is preparing to deliver cuts to jobs and public services, Tasmania has recorded the equal highest unemployment rate in the nation 4.8 per cent – significantly above the national rate of 4.3 per cent.

According to the ABS’ monthly Labour Force data, after 13 years of the Liberals Tasmania is now rock-bottom on every economic measure.

6,600 jobs have been lost since the Liberals sold out workers to form Government in August last year.

When the Liberals came to power there was money in the bank.

After 13 years of waste there’s nothing to show for it, and jobs and public services are on Eric Abetz’ chopping block.
