Leaked information from TasRacing (below) shows, under industry pressure, Jane Howlett and TasRacing are once again considering building the track at Mill Road.

Greyhound and harness participants were asked to comment on their thoughts on building two tracks at Mill Road, as well as other projects in a leaked table. 

One of the options listed is to build a greyhound and harness track at Spreyton – an option previously ruled out.  What consultation has been undertaken with thoroughbred participants and the Devonport Racing Club?

The Development Application for Mill Road is currently waiting on appeal.  Is Jane Howlett going to go ahead with the purchase of the site? 

Pressure is mounting on Jane Howlett and Jeremy Rockliff from harness and greyhound racing participants.

The racing industry supports hundreds of jobs, small businesses and regional communities on the North-West Coast, but the mess the Liberals have created over the past few years has placed this support at risk.

Tasmanian Labor wants to see a strong future for our harness and greyhound participants on the North-West Coast, and for the racing industry and the jobs it supports.

In order to do that, the industry needs certainty, and the new track they were promised needs to be delivered.
