Lambies attempt to distance themselves from the coalition they are propping up

19 June 2024

Today in Question Time, Rebekah Pentland attempted to distance the Jacqui Lambie Network from the coalition it is holding together with gaffer tape.

Maybe the Lambies didn’t realise what they were signing up to support – with job cuts to front-line health positions and a disastrous slash and burn Budget set to be handed down in September, who can blame them for having some buyer’s remorse?

The two Lambies who were able to make it to Question Time and represent their constituents today, insisted that they are not a coalition with the Liberals.

A quick Google search will inform you that a coalition is “a temporary alliance for combined action, especially of political parties forming a government”.

The facts are that the Lambies have tied themselves to the Liberals with their agreement to provide the confidence and supply for the purpose of forming a government, and that they must also share the blame for terrible government decisions.
