In another development set to destabilise the Liberal-Lambie coalition even further, the three state Lambie MPs have taken the extraordinary step of initiating legal action to stop Senator Jacqui Lambie from interfering with the state party.
As revealed by The Examiner, Andrew Jenner MP, Rebekah Pentland MP and Miriam Beswick MP have sent a legal ultimatum to Senator Lambie demanding she “butt out” of the party’s state affairs.
It is by no means a stretch to say that Mr Jenner, Ms Pentland and Ms Beswick were only elected because of Jacqui Lambie’s name.
Now the fledgling MPs are officially Lambies in name only, the Network’s chances of survival are looking slimmer and slimmer by the day.
Premier Jeremy Rockliff is now in a race against time to rush in his “stability clause” and shut the gate on any Lambie escape act before it’s too late.
If he can’t, his Liberal-Lambie coalition will be over in two shakes of a Lambie’s tail.
