The Premier needs to come out in support of Tasmania’s renewable energy future and denounce Peter Dutton’s nuclear energy policy.
Make no mistake, Peter Dutton’s nuclear policy would be one of the worst possible things to happen for Tasmania. It threatens to jeopardise $25 billion of renewable energy investment in our state and thousands of safe, secure, well-paid jobs for Tasmanian workers.
Tasmania’s renewable energy credentials are a huge asset, and it would be a giant step backwards for the state if Jeremy Rockliff kowtows to Peter Dutton.
Eric Abetz has voiced support for adding nuclear power to the nation’s energy mix, and the Jacqui Lambie Network have indicated willingness to consider the plan. Does the Premier back renewable energy investment in Tasmania, or is he being dictated to by his Liberal-Lambie minority coalition government?
