With the Federal election campaign reaching its last week, time is ticking for Tasmanian Health Minister Jacquie Petrusma to prove her previous advocacy for more Urgent Care Clinics in Tasmania was more than empty politics.
Prior to Christmas, Minister Petrusma couldn’t resist the cheap politics of accusing the Federal Labor Government of short-changing Tasmania on Urgent Care Clinics.
Now, with her own Federal colleagues failing to match Labor’s promise of a new UCC in Kingston – and failing to guarantee that visits to existing UCCs would remain free under a Coalition government – the Minister is missing in action.
These really are terrible double standards being shown by Minister Petrusma here. If she really wants the best outcome for Tasmanian healthcare she needs to speak up, and challenge her Federal colleagues.
Tasmanians know Labor is a better choice than the Liberals when it comes to healthcare.
Will Minister Petrusma finally break her silence and call on the Federal Coalition to match Labor’s UCC promises?
