Boyer Paper Mill has outlined that there is no power available for the company's $24 million conversion from coal to electricity boilers.

 

This is an energy crisis caused the energy policies of this Liberal Government and no new energy generation has been commissioned since 2020. 

 

The Liberals have made Tasmania the hardest place in Australia to build a wind farm and continued jacking up transmission prices for our biggest employers. 

 

Tasmania needs a fresh start with new planning policies and a focus on Tasmanian prices for Tasmanian power. We will work with Boyer and Hydro to make sure its transition from coal to clean electricity happens.

After 11 years of the Liberals, it's time for a fresh start.
