Premier Rockliff must correct the record following his blatant attempt at misleading the public about the Bridgewater Bridge being on time and on budget.
Despite his Infrastructure Minister outlining exactly how the project is $200 million over budget and a year late, the Premier has stayed silent on his error.
Has the Premier gone into hiding following the escalation of the ferries fiasco as Spirit IV is mothballed in Scotland?
The Ministerial code of conduct states that “Ministers must not deliberately make statements that mislead Parliament or the public and in line with Parliamentary practice are obliged to correct the record in a manner that is appropriate to the circumstances, as soon as possible after any incorrect statement is made.”
The bottom line is that the Bridge is not on time, and nor is it on budget. The Premier needs to correct the record and stop trying to use it as a distraction from his government’s other failures.
