Jeremy Rockliff has sensationally admitted he admires Peter Dutton for proposing a nuclear energy plan that has the potential to decimate the future of renewable energy investment in Tasmania.
Make no mistake, Peter Dutton’s nuclear policy would have terrible consequences for Tasmania’s renewable energy future, threatening to jeopardise a $25 billion pipeline of investment in the state, and thousands of safe, secure, well-paid jobs for Tasmanian workers.
To make matter worse, the massive, uneconomic investment Mr Dutton is proposing will also see power prices rise for all Australians by more than $600.
If Premier Rockliff really believed in renewable energy investment in Tasmania, and if he supported Tasmanian jobs, he wouldn’t be such a cheerleader for Peter Dutton’s disastrous nuclear policy
