With Peter Dutton campaigning in Tasmania today it’s time for Jeremy Rockliff to finally take a stand against the Coalition Leader’s continued attack on jobs and renewable energy in Tasmania.
Yesterday, Mr Dutton confirmed his plan to cut green hydrogen tax credits which will cause the immediate cancellation of ABEL Energy’s efuels project in Bell Bay, costing Tasmania more than 500 ongoing new jobs, 1,500 construction jobs and $4 billion of economic benefit.
Sadly, his Lyons candidate Susie Bower – who up until the election was paid by Tasmanians to advocate for projects like ABEL’s – has turned her back on the industry she used to represent in favour of supporting Mr Dutton’s risky $600 billion nuclear energy scheme.
The silence from Federal Member for Bass Bridget Archer on this matter has also been deafening.
Peter Dutton has already shown this election that he’s willing to reverse his bad policies if enough pressure is applied.
Will the Premier do what his Federal colleagues won’t and stand up for jobs in Bell Bay?
