Trade waste reform welcome, Rockliff admits he was placing jobs at risk

26 June 2025

While Labor welcomes the trade waste reform announcement made by Jeremy Rockliff today, it raises serious questions about just what he’s been doing in government.

Jeremy Rockliff says that “without the intervention of the Government, the thousands of jobs these businesses employ are at risk.”

The only government regulations Jeremy Rockliff is intervening on are his own. He’s admitted that his previous approach was placing jobs at risk.

The Liberals have been in government for 11 years. Why is it only now in an election campaign that Jeremy Rockliff is waking up to issues like this?

After 11 years of the Liberals, Tasmania needs a Fresh Start, and the only way to make that happen is to vote Labor.

Anita Dow MP
Shadow Minister for Industry & Regional Development
