Vaccine promise can’t be taken seriously with Sladden on the ticket

22 June 2025

Labor is a strong supporter of vaccines and recognises the need for a meningococcal B vaccine program for Tasmanian children.

But it is impossible to take Jeremy Rockliff seriously while he still backs in the dangerous views of Julie Sladden on his Bass ticket.

How can Jeremy Rockliff on one hand promote the benefits of vaccines, while on the other continue his full support for a candidate with dangerous, non-scientific, anti-vax views?

If Jeremy Rockliff really cared about vaccinating Tasmanians, he would cut Julie Sladden loose.

But all he really cares about is saving his own job – and his willing to make all sorts of sacrifices to the conservatives in his party-room to do so.

After 11 years of the Liberals, its time for a Fresh Start.

Shadow Minister for Health
