It’s great to finally see Spirit of Tasmania IV arrive in Devonport today. 

These ships are an important investment in Tasmania’s tourism, freight and regional economy, and will play a crucial role in connecting our island with the rest of Australia.

However, Tasmanians deserve better than a project that is years late and over $700 million over budget.

The focus now should be on getting the new Spirits into service and making sure Tasmanians get the full benefit of this investment.

It’s great to see the first new Spirit home, now let’s get them sailing.
