Where is the funding Premier Rockliff promised North West patients?

29 May 2026

Sarah Lovell MLC
Shadow Minister for Health, Mental Health & Wellbeing

29 May 2026

Where is the funding Premier Rockliff promised North West patients?

At the election, Premier Rockliff promised North West patients $117 million to fast-track more cancer, dialysis, and diagnostic services at the North West Regional Hospital.

Premier Rockliff made the promise standing next to a cancer patient. He said if Canberra didn’t fund it, he would “lock in funding” and make sure the project was delivered.

That funding is not in the budget. The Liberals have broken that promise.

This is what happens when Premier Rockliff puts Eric Abetz in charge.

After 13 years of Liberal waste, the Liberals are cutting $700 million from health services to pay for it.

North West patients should not have to travel further or wait longer because the Liberals wasted money and broke their word.

Premier Rockliff needs to explain where the funding has gone, and when North West patients will get the services they were promised.
