The Premier and Minister for Tourism’s absence from the Hobart Airport announcement today proves he is in hiding.
Earlier this week he was refusing to answer questions about the Spirits and today he's nowhere to be seen on an otherwise positive announcement about more air capacity into the state.
The Premier is yet to answer several serious questions:
How did he not know anything about the stalled Devonport berth project until April this year?
If the berth facility was going to take two and a half years to build, why was his government still telling businesses up until August that the new Spirits would be sailing by December 2024?
What sort of Tourism Minister doesn't check as to whether a billion-dollar tourism investment was on track?
Why did the Premier not tell Tourism Tasmania or the tourism industry? They found out by watching the TV news.
Did the Premier have any meetings with the Chair and CEO of TT-Line last year? Did he ask them how the project was going or why the berth hadn't started?
It's time the Premier starting answering these significant questions.
