Sarah Lovell MLC
Member for Rumney
Sarah Lovell is the Labor member for Rumney in the Tasmanian Legislative Council.
Sarah was raised with strong values of fairness, justice and dignity. Throughout her teens and early twenties Sarah volunteered for a number of social justice organisations, including St Vincent de Paul, and Edmund Rice Camps, mentoring children and young people in the community.
Prior to being elected in 2017 Sarah was a Lead Organiser with United Voice, one of Australia’s largest and most progressive unions. Sarah worked hard to empower members to fight for better workplace conditions throughout her decade long union career.
Sarah fundamentally believes in the right of all people to live a life of dignity, and recognises the responsibility of government in supporting communities with quality education, universal access to health care and secure employment.
Sarah has been a member of the Tasmanian Labor party since 2007, and is a member of the Bellerive/Howrah Branch. She is a mum of two young children.
