Shannon is standing for Labor in Lyons because she believes we can do better - for our youth, our health system, our housing, our small businesses and our most vulnerable.

She grew up in Lewisham, the youngest of four. She has experienced the heartbreaking losses of her sister and her two year old nephew, tragedies which have deepened my empathy and strengthened her resolve to make a difference.

Shannon has experienced miscarriage and the complications that can follow. She wants to speak out for women and families who feel silenced in their grief. 

As a mum, she's spent long nights in emergency departments - waiting, watching, hoping. She knows the fear that creeps in when you worry your kids aren’t safe in a system stretched too thin.

Shannon and her husband built their family home on 45 acres in Copping. They stood their ground during the Dunalley bushfires, fighting to protect their home and helping our community rise from the ashes. She has seen what resilience looks like up close, and knows the strength of regional communities.

Shannon wants to overhaul our planning system to make it fairer and more efficient, tackle housing affordability and support the small businesses that are the backbone of our local economy. She wants to give disengaged young people real pathways and bring her lived experience into decision-making.
